Abstract

In a globalized context, this article focuses on the trends that have influenced antitrust regulations in Latin America over the past decade. Globalization has brought challenges and opportunities that have significantly shaped the regulatory framework in the region. The primary objective is to explore how these global processes have impacted antitrust policies, generating various responses and adaptations in Latin American countries. Using an exhaustive literature review methodology, relevant studies from various academic databases were compiled and synthesized. The study's results highlight the complexity of the interactions between globalization and antitrust policies, revealing a diversity of regulatory approaches and strategies. One of the most significant findings is how globalization has influenced the formulation of antitrust policies, with some countries adopting stricter regulatory frameworks and others opting for more flexible approaches. This diversity reflects economic, political, and social differences among countries, as well as their priorities and institutional capacities. In conclusion, this study underscores the importance of understanding and adapting to global trends to promote economic competition and equity in Latin America, suggesting the need for future research to delve deeper into these regulatory dynamics in a constantly evolving globalized environment
