Innovation Capabilities as Determinants of Business Resilience in Tourism: Evidence from a Systematic Review
Main Article Content
Abstract
Contemporary tourism faces increasing vulnerability to economic and health crises, which has driven the need to understand how innovation capabilities strengthen business resilience in this sector. This article aims to evaluate the impact of innovation capabilities on business resilience within the tourism sector, analyzing how technological, organizational, and social strategies influence the adaptability and sustainability of organizations. A systematic review, based on the PRISMA method, will be developed to integrate and compare evidence from recent research published between 2018 and 2026 in international academic databases. The results will demonstrate that the adoption of digital technologies, inter-organizational collaboration, sustainable innovation, and talent management are key factors in strengthening resilience in the face of global crises. Furthermore, it will be highlighted that inclusive and ethical innovation will enhance the competitiveness and long-term sustainability of tourism. In conclusion, innovation will solidify its position as a strategic driver for the recovery and adaptation of the tourism sector, generating direct implications for public policy design, business management, and future research focused on the sustainable and resilient transformation of global tourism
