Protective factors and intervention models for adolescent victims of homophobic bullying: A bibliometric analysis
Main Article Content
Abstract
Homophobic bullying represents a form of school violence that significantly affects the mental health and emotional well-being of adolescents, making it necessary to understand protective factors and the most effective interventions. The study analyzed the scientific production on protective factors and intervention models for adolescent victims of homophobic bullying through a bibliometric review in Scopus, SciELO, and Web of Science during the period 2015-2025. The methodology included a systematic search of documents with specific terms, the application of inclusion and exclusion criteria, and the analysis of productivity, impact, and academic collaboration indicators, following the PRISMA 2020 protocol guidelines. A total of 699 documents were identified, with a predominance of Web of Science (55.08 %), followed by Scopus (39.34 %) and SciELO (5.58 %). The results evidenced a progressive growth in publications, with a peak in 2023, and higher production in Spain and the United States. The main protective factors were family support (92 %), inclusive school climate (78 %), and socio-emotional skills (71 %). The most frequent intervention models included school coexistence programs, teacher training, and psychological support, with multidisciplinary approaches showing greater effectiveness. Emerging trends were identified toward the evaluation of program effectiveness and the study of homophobic cyberbullying. It was concluded that scientific production has grown steadily, although limited production in Latin America was evidenced, highlighting the need to strengthen regional research to design contextualized interventions
