Teacher training from the spiritual intelligence; a contribution emerging

Abstract

The teaching profession, as a legacy of moral significance, has been overshadowed by mass processes that have diminished its scope, because although it is true that the statistics were increased, it was not like that with the true purpose of being a teacher. The so-called banking education was the trigger for scholars such as Gardner (1983) or Goleman (1996) to delve into the study of forms of learning and determine that intelligence is multiple and we connect through the rational and emotional. However, some authors such as Zohar and Marshall (2001) dedicated themselves to determining what was the point that united both intelligences and demonstrated a bridge between the two: Spiritual Intelligence (IES), which allows establishing a rational process with substantial questions that connect the emotions. Therefore, this presentation proposes an understanding of the functioning of intelligences, their link with Venezuelan higher education and the contributions that the IES can offer to the training of future teachers. The reflective process is the guiding thread of this presentation, deriving conclusions from my teaching experience as a teacher of future teachers, in contrast to what has been raised by the theorists about the questioning of the teaching work from everyday life.
