Abstract

The study aimed to understand the manifestation of critical thinking in university students' research where a qualitative approach with a phenomenological design was used, using semi-structured interviews with six informants who were directly related to the curricular research experience. The findings highlighted that critical thinking is manifested in students' ability to analyze and understand various positions of knowledge. This involves the ability to consider different perspectives and arguments, even those that may challenge the researcher's personal beliefs. In conclusion, the study found that critical thinking is an essential skill for university researchers, as it strengthens the quality and relevance of their research. It facilitates the formulation of meaningful questions, the validation of arguments, reflection on one's own performance and the consideration of diverse perspectives contribute to generating relevant research in various academic fields
