Body, Gender and Diversity: Construction of femininity in the Miss Amazonas trans beauty pageant

Abstract
The objective is to account for how the trans population develops recognition spaces as a means of resistance, such as the Miss Amazonas beauty pageant. For this, we worked under a qualitative approach. Through the development of the study, it is concluded that, although Miss Amazonas could be perceived as a submission to the heteronormative and patriarchal ideal, it is suggested that it is a space that subverts old meanings to build political rights based, above all, on aesthetic practices. and give an account of the progress, achievements and visibility that this population is gayning from the self-management of their activities occupying the public space and contributing, through that visibility, to the configuration of new perceptions and new subjectivities about sex-gender identity
