Abstract

Villa El Salvador emerged in the context of the military government of Juan Velasco Alvarado, in 1971, in the midst of a process of structural reforms for the country and with the determined participation of the popular and peasant sectors. In the midst of this process of Velasquista reforms, the Pamplona Alta area was invaded by a population contingent that ranged between 6,000 and 9,000 people, who caused a great impact on the Government, for which they were transferred to the foothills. from the hill of Tablada de Lurín, where they are organized in sectors, residential groups, and blocks; under the supervision of SINAMOS (National System of Social Mobilization) and with the strong support of various sectors of the Catholic Church. Two years after the relocation and with the participation of the community, more than two thousand leaders of blocks and residential groups, starting on July 22, 1973, the First Communal Self-Census will be carried out, which will allow us to discover important demographic, economic and, social and cultural regarding the situation of Villa El Salvador.
