The experience of Distance Education and teaching and learning strategies in times of Pandemic, from the voice of its protagonists

Abstract

Distance Education is an academic modality that has incorporated new study and learning methodologies through the use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT). Currently, teachers as one of the protagonists of education have had to innovate in terms of teaching and learning strategies because of the presence of the SARS-CoV2 virus, more than half world population has been subjected to some kind of confinement and social distancing that has led to an economic recession throughout the planet, including all levels of face-to-face education, which led to the closure of schools. This article, result of an investigation, aimed to know about the experience of distance education and teaching and learning strategies in times of pandemic from the voice of its performers, likewise it was framed within a qualitative methodological approach, it was based on interviews with teachers in the private area where the stress situation, lack of some tools and innovative strategies was evidenced in the face of the problems experienced. The interview and forum chat technique were used to collect the data presented in the research. In this sense, the results showed the need to generate new teaching-learning strategies where technology plays a fundamental role, as well as the requirement that teachers have of technological tools that allow them to develop and with more scope the educational work.
